Proper packaging is worth its money.

Please keep in mind that you’re not dealing with a waste product. You should therefore handle the empty cartridges with appropriate care so that they can be reused and recycled. We only pay for empties that are in perfect condition and clean. We recommend that you place each empty cartridge into a separate bag. This stops residual ink or toner from spoiling other empties. Suitable packaging material is usually supplied with the product when you purchase it.
